For those who are interested we have many more pictures of our various adventures this Christmas in Kaysville. It was a great pleasure to be able to make the trip, all be it that the actual travel plans didn't fall perfectly into place. It just wouldn't be travelling if there weren't a few arguments with the airline...
I greatly appreciated all of the presents I received, and I have made good use of the car ice scraper! I also really enjoyed our brief trip to Park City and just wish we could have spent more time up there. I was surprised that there wasn't more snow, I had always imagined Utah spent 3 months a year under a blanket of snow. I certainly hope that plans will come together for us to visit in summer. I still have gift vouchers to In 'n out and Outback to use!

Christmas in Aberdeen
Neil, myself, and Dad sit enjoying Christmas Eve in Aberdeen. It is tradition in the Adam family to go and get a real tree each year. Thankfully we didn't have to cut the tree down, but simply had to pick one, take it home and decorate it. With so many folks all in one house, the stack of presents tends to get a little overwhelming. The Adam family have the youngest members distribute the presents and then each family member opens them in chronological order (oldest to youngest). It was a fun time.
Since Sarah and Martin also see Martin's family on Christmas, and since we were leaving on boxing day (26th Dec) to go to SLC, we had Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve. It actually made a nice change to the usual chaos of Christmas day lunch in Aberdeen, which involves mum spending much of the morning in the kitchen. We had a starter of smoked mackerel pate and melba toast, and melon balls for those not fish inclined. Roast turkey was the main, and there were a variety of desserts.

Pre-Christmas
Here are some of our pre-Christmas photos. Every year Edinburgh holds a Christmas fayre. In this picture you can see much of the amusements, including an outdoor ice rink, and a ferris wheel. In the background you can also see the Walter Scott monument and the Balmoral hotel.
This was kind of an interesting amusement they had. Basically they chuck the kids into these plastic balls (like hamsters) and let them run around in the balls on water. It looked fun! As you can see from Alyson's face and attire, it was quite cold that day.
Here are 2 of our American friends in the ward, and our own dear Christmas tree. (Artificial and only 3 ft tall). We had a wee Christmas party among friends before heading to Aberdeen, and then on to Salt Lake.
